Ways to use a 1–100 number generator

Raffles up to 100 entries

Number your entries 1 to 100, set how many winners you need and keep “No repeats” on so nobody wins twice.

Guess my number

One player generates a secret number; the others guess while you answer “higher” or “lower”.

Classroom picks

Assign each student a number and pick who answers next, or draw random page numbers for reading practice.

Quick percentages

Each number is a 1% chance, so a result of 1–25 can mean “25% chance” in games and simulations.

The guessing-game strategy

In “guess my number” between 1 and 100, you never need more than 7 guesses. Always guess the middle of the range that's left: 50, then 25 or 75, and so on. Each guess halves the possibilities, and 2⁷ = 128 is more than 100.

How fair is it?

Every whole number from 1 to 100, including both ends, has exactly the same 1% chance of being picked. Need a different range? Change the From and To fields, or open the full Random Number Generator.

Frequently asked questions

Are 1 and 100 included?
Yes. Both ends of the range can be picked, and each has the same 1% chance as every other number.
How do I pick several different numbers?
Set “How many numbers” to the amount you need and keep “No repeats” on. You'll get unique numbers, like drawing numbered balls from a bag.
Can I get the numbers in order?
Yes. Choose “Smallest first” under Order to sort the results.
