A d20 roller for tabletop games
In most tabletop roleplaying games, a twenty-sided die (d20) decides whether an action succeeds. Each face has an equal 5% chance, so a “natural 20” (or a “natural 1”) shows up on average once every 20 rolls.
Rolling with advantage or disadvantage? Set “How many numbers” to 2 and keep the higher or lower result. Repeats are allowed by default, like real dice.

Other uses for 1–20
- Pick a random student from a class of 20.
- Draw raffle winners: turn “No repeats” on so the same ticket can't win twice.
- Choose a random question from a 20-question quiz.
Frequently asked questions
What are the chances of rolling a 20?
5%, or 1 in 20, on every roll. The chance of rolling at least one 20 when rolling twice (advantage) is about 9.75%.
Why are repeats allowed by default?
Because it behaves like a die: the same number can come up twice in a row. Turn on “No repeats” for raffles or seating, where every number should appear once.
Do you have a six-sided die?
Yes: the Random Number 1–6 page works as a d6 roller.
