Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains what information Genspinner (“we”, “us”) collects when you use genspinner.com and how it is used. The short version: our generators run in your browser, and we don't ask for or store personal information to use them.
Information you enter into generators
Options you select and text you type into a generator, such as a name, a Wi-Fi password for a QR code or a password you generate, are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers.
Saved results
When you save (star) a result, it is stored in your browser's local storage on your device so you can find it later. We can't see it. You can delete saved results at any time from the generator's Saved tab or by clearing your browser's site data.
Theme preference
If you switch between the dark and light theme, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It contains nothing else and is never sent to us.
Secret Santa links
The Secret Santa draw runs in your browser. Each personal link carries the participant's assignment in an encoded part of the address after the “#” symbol, which browsers do not send to our servers. Anyone you share a link with can open it, so send each link only to the person it belongs to.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the service running. These logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Analytics and advertising
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which generators are used and how to improve them. We may also show advertising to keep the site free. Analytics or advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and this policy will be updated to name the providers we use.
Children
Genspinner is a general-audience website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we collect very little, the easiest way to exercise these rights is to contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
